Proeon finalists in EEEGR Innovation Awards

Proeon Systems were really pleased to have been shortlisted for the converted EEEGR innovation awards last week. The awards finals and presentations were held at the Premiere League, Norwich City football ground at an all-day event.

The innovation nomination was for the integrated safety control system developed in house, to bring together all the aspects of the CAP437 helideck regulation changes; Circle H illumination and Fire detection and suppression. The completion was stiff, with other presentations from boat mooring systems support measures, data management and reduced friction washer systems.

In the end however, despite a comprehensive presentation to the dragon’s den style judging panel Proeon was unable to lift the trophy on the evening.

Proeon shall endeavour to develop further innovations for future submissions, and hope to come away with some silver wear next year. To find out more about CAP437 please check out www.cap437.co.uk

PGA Event

Proeon is pleased to anounce we're hosting a major event; The PGA

The Proeon Golf Adventure (PGA) will be on the 15th of May and we’re looking for teams from companies who fancy a laugh playing Adventure golf at Norwich’s New Adventure golf centre.

The afternoon game will be a shot gun start off ‘a’ hole with a mixed group of 4-6 players made up from other company team members. Everyone will work their way round the course chatting, laughing and generally playing golf until you return to the hole you started on. It should take about 1hr to 1.5hrs depending on ball loss rate.

You then head back to the 19th hole for nibbles, add up your company team score, divide by the members in the team, and you have your team score! There will be a prize for team lowest score, individual worst score etc. Simples.

There will be the usual people from Proeon and perhaps a few that YOU feel might like to come along as well and knock their balls about, so invite them.

All clubs, cues, rackets, and balls will be provided…(if you wish to wear golf gear, there may well be a prize for funniest outfit)

Please let us know if you wish to register a team and for more details, as places are limited and are filling up quickly.

HSDE Agreement Signed

Proeon Systems have signed a significant agreement with Manchester based Gas Turbine control specialists AT Engine Controls (ATEC) the owners of the HSDE brand, to develop solutions and promote the HSDE brand into new markets.

The HSDE brand name is often found on legacy Gas Turbine control systems for Rolls Royce Allison engines et-al across the world together with the HSDE Digicon family of controllers. ATEC/HSDE has been servicing these and other HSDE products over the years, with little or no new core product development.

The new collaboration with HSDE and Proeon will see the development and support for new products and solutions, and a creep back to the forefront of Gas Turbine control for the HSDE brand name.

John Bowden, Technical Director of ATEC said:

"The application base for HSDE systems is now much greater with operators looking to elongate budgets and squeeze running costs in the current energy pricing climate. HSDE see an opportunity to broaden the offering and grow into new markets."

So watch this space for more news on HSDE and its solutions...

CAP437 Event Update

The Sembmarine SLP and Proeon collaborative CAP437 event is happy to announce that we will have live demo’s of the Orga developed LED Circle-H system lighting up Aberdeen. The LEDs are integrated into the core solution on offer to bring your helideck up to compliance.

Front line fire and gas detection company Draeger will be on hand to provide demonstrations and information on their F5000 Video Flame detectors adapted to close fit to the helideck providing fire coverage of your Helideck operations with the added benefit of optional control room CCTV through the Proeon control panel.

If you would like to come along to this engineers focused event please make contact with Dr Dorian Hindmarsh on +44 (0)1224  843 777

Industry collaboration solves the CAP437 compliance conundrum

Proeon and Lowestoft based, Sembarine SLP have joined forces under an MOU, to offer the operators of offshore assets the only current comprehensive solution to the impending CAP437 - 7thEdition revisions. By 2016, operators on the UKCS with installations having fixed helidecks are required to comply with the latest standard, which will include the installation of an LED illuminated Circle & H, and a Deck integrated Fire Fighting system (DIFFs).

For a typical solution, Sembmarine SLP will offer clients the complete certified installation of the LED illuminated circle-H, DIFF nozzles and pump skid all integrated to a Proeon developed control solution. This will provide Dräger based video flame detection, with optional CCTV functions, and operation of the helideck lighting, all tied into the platform’s ESD if required.

Sembmarine SLP working in collaboration with Proeon, firmly believes this solution is the first step to provide a safe, cost effective and comprehensive answer to the soon to be enforced helicopter operation safety system changes.

The collaboration will be showcasing the solutions at a special event to be held on the 29thof January, at the i2 Building, 210 Union st. Aberdeen, SLP offices.

ISO9001:2008 and 14001:2004

Proeon Systems are delighted to announce that we have successfully achieved both our ISO9001:2008 and new for this year, ISO14001:2004.

We’ve had our ISO 9001:2008 certification for three years now, which was a relatively easy process when we were a much smaller company. Now Proeon is at the heady heights of nearly 30 personnel, with defined departments, and enhanced management systems, we are pleased to see another audit successfully achieved.

To add to this achievement, we’ve also been on the path way for the ISO 14001: 2004 Environmental Management certification, which was also awarded this month.

So what do these two certificates mean?

Well, as a client you are assured that Proeon Systems carries out all projects and works following structured Quality Management and Environmental Management Systems, with defined procedures, work instructions and policies developed to protect your people and our people against risk from poor practice, H&S, and environmental considerations.

Proeon is dedicated to continuous improvement and will follow the ISO standards through our business.

More New Faces

Proeon is pleased to announce, albeit a bit late, that we’ve added a few new members to our team in the last couple of months; Les Thomas, Matthew Cole and Stephen Appleby.

Les, heads up our expanding CAD department, with the ability to develop 3D animated renditions of our builds, right through to 2D line drawings of circuits and assemblies.

Matthew joins Les in the CAD department as a seasoned CAD engineer, increasing our CAD and design capabilities.

Stephen, will be supporting our growing Test & Validation team in our new purpose built Test Workshop which includes a specialist ESD protective environment room for ESD testing of equipment and project builds.

And as of the date of this press release, we’re still recruiting, so if you’re interested in a working in this exciting company, click here for more information on the roles available.

New Projects

It has been a busy week at Proeon HQ. Last week we were delighted when we received a total of 3 purchase orders with a combined value of over £600k comprised of a single order of £345k from one of our newer clients. This order forms a third part of a larger project in the Sub-Sea and Workover sector that Proeon was awarded earlier in the year. This latest section comprised of Safety System development and we will deliver both bespoke software and a sizeable hardware build based on Rockwell and Beckhoff componentry.

Further orders were received for 2 complete North Sea Gas platform Fire & Gas Control Panel Systems based on the fantastic value SIL 2/3 SCAME Sistemi F&G panel. These platform fire & gas systems are scheduled to be installed and commissioned by close of the year.

If you wish to know more about our bespoke control systems and fire & gas system solutions, please feel free to call one of our team or complete the form on the contact us page.

Proeon Outgrows Offices... again!

For the third time in 2 years Proeon Systems is forced into lifting, lugging, sweating, and sliding furniture, computers, printers, and paraphernalia into new premises.

The big advantage is that the move is only along the corridor. This marks another key stage in the business development with expansion enabling the recruitment of further engineering staff to fulfil significant projects. Proeon has been at the Hethel Engineering Centre for the last 4 years and has become the biggest tenant at the centre. Recruitment in the last month has seen 2 further CAD Engineers, and 2 further Engineers for Software and Hardware.

Proeon's contact details have remained the same, so feel free to give us a call to discuss your requirements: 01953 859 110.

Showtime...

Proeon is choosing to kick-off the 2014 Event Season by having rather an unusual presence at the East of England Energy Group’s annual bash, the Sea of Opportunity.

This year’s event is to be held at one of East Anglia’s premier venues, The Royal Norfolk Show ground, just outside of the picturesque city of Norwich. Proeon have had a show stand at this event before, but this year is different.  Dr Dorian Hindmarsh, Proeon’s Business Development Manager said “This year we are celebrating ten years of business for Proeon, so we thought we should do a bit more than previous years. We’re building an impressive display, code named the Police Box, and show goers will be able to see live demos of Scame Sistemi Fire and Gas detection, Gas Turbine control systems and other specialist control systems while having a complementary coffee and nibble on stand in our hospitality lounge.”

Proeon will be on stand A34+ at the EEEGR two day event, so come along and meet the team, and maybe even pick up a Proeon goodie.
